Meryl

So tell us a little bit about yourself…Hi! My name is Meryl. I am from Buffalo, NY and have lived there my whole life until I came to college here at West Virginia University. I attended Williamsville East High School in Williamsville, NY, a suburb of Buffalo and graduated from there in 2004. I am currently a senior at WVU with a double major in Communications and Spanish and plan to graduate in May of 2008. It’s a scary thought! I am not 100% sure on what I actually want to do when I graduate but I know that I love interacting with people and feel that a job in Television or radio would suit me best. Currently I work as a bartender in Morgantown at de Lazy Lizard on High St. I really enjoy my job at de Lazy Lizard because I get to interact with all different kinds of people while being surrounded by some of the most amazing friends I could have ever asked for. During my four years of high school I worked as a head server at a pizzeria in Buffalo and had a blast; however, one of the most difficult yet rewarding jobs I have ever had was working as a personal aide with children who have serve disabilities. To my surprise, while learning about different disabilities as I was working with individuals who had them, I found myself opening up my heart to these innocent children and falling in love with them. They taught me more about myself and the gift of life than anything ever will. Needless to say I’m a workaholic and really put myself into everything I do!

What is the worst job you ever had and why? I honestly can’t really say that I have had a “worst job”. I have enjoyed every job I have ever had thus far in my life.

What did you want to be as a kid? I always wanted to be a talk show host and have my own show. Back then, it was Rosie O’Donell. Now, it is Oprah.

If you won the Million Dollar Jackpot today. What would you do? I think that the first thing I would do would be to invest about ¼ of it into a home where I knew that in ten years from now it would be worth double. Then I would give my parents enough money to do something they have always dreamed of doing but never actually been able to. If I had any money left over after that, I would tour the world. I love to travel!

If you could have dinner with anyone (past or present) who would it be?  Definitely my Grandma Nell. I unfortunately was never able to meet her and would have loved to get to know her.

If you were stranded on a desert island for the next 10 years and one person was stuck with you. Who would it be? Why? I would have to say I would want to be stranded with my best friend/roommate Candice because I rely on her for a lot and think her and I could make the best of the situation.

The food you can't live without? Pasta. No questions asked.

What's your favorite Holiday? Christmas. The lights, the music, the smell (cinnamon and pine) and most importantly time with my family. Nothing can compare

Top five movies of all time? Billy Madison, Derailed, Rent, Big Daddy and Saw 3

What’s the funniest thing you have ever experienced? Taking my friend Jenny skiing for the first time and watching her go straight down the hill not knowing how to stop until she tumbled down. All I saw was a snow fly up everywhere. It was hilarious!(Sorry Jenny)!

If they made a movie of your life what star would play you? Hmm.. probably Hilary Swank because she is so fun loving and knows when to be serious and when to have a good time

What would the title of the movie be? Never judge a book by its cover.

You find a hundred dollar bill on a bank floor.. what do you do with it? Pick it up and return it to the bank. It was not my hundred dollars that I earned so it’s not fair to take someone else’s hard earned money away from them.

This is the last concert you will ever see… who is it? No questions asked Mariah Carey. I have seen her once and it was the most amazing concert I have ever been too. I love her and her music.
