Morgan Freeman was released from a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital Thursday (August 7th) after undergoing surgery following a weekend car crash, the Associated Press reports. A hospital spokeswoman said the 71-year-old Freeman had been released from Regional Medical Center, but provided no further details.

Freeman's injuries included a broken arm, broken elbow and some shoulder damage.

His passenger was identified as 48-year-old Demaris Meyer, reportedly a longtime friend of Freeman and his wife of 24 years.

Jewel has married her longtime boyfriend, rodeo champion Ty Murray just days after completing the latest season as a judge on NBC's reality show Nashville Star. People reports that the couple eloped to the Bahamas and exchanged vows in a private ceremony Thursday (August 7) night. "She wore a traditional wedding gown, while Ty wore his favorite blue jeans, white shirt and cowboy hat."

A rep for Britney Spears denied reports that the pop star will be starring as a lesbian killer in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming remake of Faster Pussycat! Kill Kill!.  Her spokesperson said, "Though she definitely intends to explore acting roles down the road, right now she's concentrating on consuming gas station burritos and writing checks to Kevin Federline.”

A source close to Tarantino commented on the rumors, stating, "There is no truth to this."  He then expressed bewilderment at Tarantino’s career and referred to him as a “Frankenstein.”

Dixie Chick Emily Robison and her husband, fellow musician Charlie Robison, are officially over. The couple quietly filed for divorce back in January, and that request was granted on Wednesday (August 6th) in Texas.

The Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kid Rock tour kicks off tonight (Friday, August 8th) in New Orleans. Skynyrd is expected to perform all of their classic songs, including "Free Bird," "Gimme Three Steps," and "Saturday Night Special" while Kid Rock occasionally yells his own name into a microphone before belching up a big beer cloud and then passing out into the front row.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is involved in a war of words with Lindsay Lohan's parents, according to AccessHollywood.com. While guest-hosting the syndicated Live with Regis & Kelly show Monday (August 4th), Anderson called the family's E! reality show, Living Lohan, a "train wreck," saying Lindsay's 14-year-old sister Ali looks more like 60 and "allegedly wants to be a singer and or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, I don't know."

The girls' mother, Dina Lohan, told OK! Magazine that such comments were "bad karma" for Anderson, but he persisted, saying on his CNN show, "I feel bad for the 14-year-old daughter. She seems like a nice person, but she should be a kid, not in a (reality show)."

The publication claims that the ABC hit will feature singer Toni Braxton, reality star Kim Kardashian, Jewel's boyfriend Ty Murray, former NFL star Dan Marino, boy bander Lance Bass and Mrs. Brady herself, Florence Henderson.
