Morgan Freeman was released from a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital Thursday (August 7th) after undergoing surgery following a weekend car crash, the Associated Press reports. A hospital spokeswoman said the 71-year-old Freeman had been released from Regional Medical Center, but provided no further details.
Freeman's injuries included a broken arm, broken elbow and some shoulder damage.
His passenger was identified as 48-year-old Demaris Meyer, reportedly a longtime friend of Freeman and his wife of 24 years.
Jewel has married her longtime boyfriend, rodeo champion Ty Murray just days after completing the latest season as a judge on NBC's reality show Nashville Star. People reports that the couple eloped to the Bahamas and exchanged vows in a private ceremony Thursday (August 7) night. "She wore a traditional wedding gown, while Ty wore his favorite blue jeans, white shirt and cowboy hat."
A rep for Britney Spears denied reports that the pop star will be starring as a lesbian killer in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming remake of Faster Pussycat! Kill Kill!. While guest-hosting the syndicated Live with Regis & Kelly show Monday (August 4th), Anderson called the family's E! reality show, Living Lohan, a "train wreck," saying Lindsay's 14-year-old sister Ali looks more like 60 and "allegedly wants to be a singer and or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, I don't know."
The girls' mother, Dina Lohan, told OK! Magazine that such comments were "bad karma" for Anderson, but he persisted, saying on his CNN show, "I feel bad for the 14-year-old daughter. She seems like a nice person, but she should be a kid, not in a (reality show)."
