The Great Gatsby by Montana Repertory Theatre

Cottontail Express

Location: Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad

Event Details: Bring the kids dressed in their Easter best to meet Peter Cottontail on the Train. Join the Easter parade of animals in a mad search for that hippity, hoppity Bunny. This hop down the rails includes face painting, singing and general merriment. (1.5 hour Round Trip) Departs Elkins Depot: 11 am and 1 pm Ticket Price: (Train Ride Only). Adult $40.00 Children(4-11) $35.00 and Children under 4 Free.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Date: Saturday, April 4th

Time: 8:00 -11:00 a.m.

Location: Robin’s Nest Travel Center (Directly off I-79 exit 105)

Event Details: Bring the kids to visit with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a great breakfast buffet. Every child will receive an Easter Treat bag and a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Adult buffet $7.99, Kids eat free. Limit of 2 adult buffets per kid for $7.99 additional adult buffet can be purchased for $9.99. National Tartan Day!

Date: Monday, April 6th

Time: 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Location: Meagher’s Pub

Event Details: Tartan Day was observed on April 6, 1997 for the first time in U.S. history. The date of April 6 commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320, which asserted Scotland's sovereignty over English territorial claims, and which was an influence on the American Declaration of Independence. It is a day that will be observed so long as there are Scots who care about their heritage. 

Stained Glass Classes

Date: April 9, 10, or 11th

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Arthurdale

Event Details: Dave Houser is returning to Arthurdale to teach ather series of Stained Glass Classes. Students will be able to select the colors of both the tube and the color wheels, meaning each person will walk away with a truly unique final product. The cost is $50.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members. There are only 8 spots for each day so be sure to sign up soon!

School of the Longhunter

Annual Spring Buckwheat and Sausage Breakfast

Event Details: The Bridgeport Kiwanis announce the Annual Spring Buckwheat and Sausage Community Breakfast is set for Saturday, April 11, 2015 in downtown Bridgeport at the conveniently located Benedum Civic Center. 8 a.m. until Noon. Tickets at the door $7. Takeouts available. Bridgeport High school Key Club members will assist with the serving. Delicious Special Recipe Old Fashioned Buckwheat Cakes, Maple Syrup, and fine Sausage. Plenty of free parking and Handicapped Accessible. 82nd Wheeling Jamboree

Date: Saturday, April 11th

Location: Wheeling

Event Details: Meet and greet some of the stars of the Jamboree at a special, private dinner prior to the show. Performers are Jamboree Patriarch Darnell Miller, Georgette Jones, Bluegrass Mountaineers, Steve Smith Band, Jim Wilson, and Shelby Nestler, National Pike Pickers, Rachael Whitcomb and Andrea Call. The buses will pick up in Weston, Bridgeport, Fairmont, La Vale, Friendsville, and Morgantown. The price of 135 dollars includes a seat on the motorcoach, buffet dinner, private meet-and-greet, and reserved seating for the Wheeling Jamboree show. Cabin Fever Craft Show

WV Leadership Academy

Event Details: The WVLA will be holding an event for any adult or family member of a person who lives with a mental health and/or additional issues. The WVLA experience will include 3 days of classroom instruction designed to empower the attendees with a set of universal applied skills. Some of the skills offered include advocacy, organization, and leadership abilities. Workshop for Cancer Patients

Event Details: Workshop to make scarves for cancer patients will be sponsored be the Harrison County Community Educational Outreach Service. No Cost. Bring your crochet hook, scissors and your choice of 4 ply yarn. Pink for Breast Cancer, Purple for Pancreatic Cancer or Light Green for Hodgkin Lymphoma. CASA Superhero 5K

Event Details: The 3rd Annual CASA Superhero 5K is upon us once again. Participants will gather from across the region to be superheroes for abused and neglected children, because every child needs a hero, but abused children need a superhero. Proceeds benefit CASA programs in Harrison, Marion and Monongalia Counties. It is a family event and people are welcome to dress for the occasion. John Randolph Spring Arts Kick Off

Event Details: The annual event to open Fort New Salem is back! Live demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, and live music is on the agenda. General admission is $5 children 10 and under admitted free with paying adult.

Event Details: Learn about this unique indigenous Appalachian leek while enjoying local arts, crafts and live music. Local food vendors show off scrumptious ramp dishes! Festival: 10 am– 5 pm in Town Square, then relax on a one-hour train ride. Departs Elkins Depot: 12:30 pm and 3 pm (Train Ride Only). All seats are $15.00 and children under 4 are free.

Event Details: Please join us for tea and refreshments at the Job Prickett House. By the mid. 19th century, America was approaching its first centennial, sparking an enthusiasm for British traditions.
